About zezone
You know it. Can you make it?
What it is
zezone (ze.zone) is a free website of drawing games played from memory. Each game names or shows something you have seen many times, and you draw it. The site then shows the real thing over your drawing and scores how close you were.
It runs in a web browser on a phone or a computer. There is nothing to download and no sign-up.
The games
- apex: a race circuit's map flashes up, then disappears, and you draw it from memory. 40 circuits.
- line: draw the racing line through a famous corner. A simulated car drives your line and you are scored on its time. 38 corners.
- border: you get a country's name and draw its outline from memory. 147 countries.
- taxi: draw a route between two London landmarks. A meter runs on your route and on a cabbie's, and you are scored on the fare. 126 landmarks.
How a game works
Every game is five rounds. Each round is scored out of 10, so a run is out of 50.
There are three difficulties: Easy, Hard and Brutal. Easy gives more time and more help; Brutal gives almost none.
Each game also has a daily challenge: the same five rounds for everyone that day, on Hard, with one attempt.
Questions
Is zezone free?
Yes. Every game is free, with no download and no sign-up.
How is a run scored?
apex and border line your drawing up with the real outline and compare the two point by point. line has a simulated car drive your line and scores its time against the best line. taxi runs a meter on your route and compares the fare with a cabbie's: match it and the round is a 10. Each game's own page has its exact rules and formula.
Do I need an account?
No. An account is optional. Signing in with Google or an emailed link keeps your scores on every device and puts your runs on the leaderboards under three initials.
Are there leaderboards?
Yes. Each game has a board for the daily challenge and an all-time board for each difficulty. Runs are scored again on the server from what was drawn, so a score cannot simply be typed in.
Can I challenge a friend?
Yes. After a run you can share a link that opens the same five rounds. If you were signed in, the link carries your score for them to beat.
What does zezone keep about me?
Almost nothing. Without an account, your scores stay in your own browser. The privacy page has the details.
